Kingdom Family – Doing Life Together at The Vine
Doing life together. Growing as disciples. Building Kingdom Family.
At The Vine, we believe church is about far more than what happens on a Sunday.
Every Sunday we gather as one church family to worship God, hear His Word, celebrate all that He is doing and encourage one another. Those larger gatherings are at the heart of our life together.
But church doesn't stop when the service ends.
Throughout the week, our Small Groups provide places where friendships grow, faith is nurtured and disciples are made. They are one of the primary ways we learn to follow Jesus together in everyday life.
They're not another meeting to squeeze into an already busy week.
They're an opportunity to build friendships, encourage one another, grow as disciples and discover what it means to live as God's Kingdom family.
Whether you've been following Jesus for many years or are just beginning to explore faith, we'd love you to be part of one.
Why Join a Small Group?
Nobody was created to follow Jesus alone.
Small Groups are places where people are known, supported and encouraged through every season of life. They're where we celebrate together, pray for one another, ask honest questions and learn what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.
For many people, this is where church begins to feel like family.
Sunday and Small Groups
We don't see Sundays and Small Groups as separate parts of church—they belong together.
On Sundays we gather as the whole church family to worship, learn from God's Word and celebrate together.
During the week we meet in smaller communities where we can encourage one another, pray together, build deeper friendships and put God's Word into practice.
One strengthens the other.
Together they help us become the people God is calling us to be.
Alongside our Small Groups, we also gather at different times throughout the year for worship evenings, prayer gatherings, teaching events and church family celebrations, bringing us together as one body.
What Happens at a Small Group?
Every group is different—and that's one of the things that makes them special.
Some evenings we may share a meal together.
Others might focus on discussing Sunday's message or exploring the Bible.
We'll spend time praying, encouraging one another, celebrating answered prayer and simply enjoying each other's company.
Some groups also enjoy serving the community together or gathering socially outside their regular meetings.
There isn't a fixed formula.
The aim isn't to complete an agenda; it's to help one another become more like Jesus.
Six Ways We Grow Together
Every Small Group reflects the same heart and vision of The Vine.
Together we seek to:
- Belong – building genuine friendships where everyone has somewhere to belong.
- Grow as Disciples – encouraging one another to become more like Jesus by living in the Spirit and putting His teaching into practice.
- Pray – seeking God together and supporting one another through prayer.
- Care – walking alongside one another through every season of life.
- Serve – blessing our church, our neighbours and our communities with God's love.
- Reach – creating welcoming communities where others can discover Jesus.
Every Group is Different
We provide direction, not prescription.
Every Small Group shares the same vision and values, but no two groups are exactly alike.
Some enjoy sharing meals together.
Others may spend more time studying the Bible, taking prayer walks or serving the community.
Some are particularly creative, while others enjoy discussion.
The variety is part of the beauty.
What matters is that every group helps people belong, grow as disciples and become more like Jesus together.
What If I Can't Attend Every Week?
Life isn't always straightforward.
Work patterns, caring responsibilities, health or family commitments may make it difficult to attend regularly.
Please don't feel that this means you can't be part of a Small Group.
At The Vine, we don't see Small Groups simply as meetings to attend—we see them as communities where people belong.
Even if you can't come every week, we'd still love you to be connected to a group so that you have people who know you, pray for you, keep in touch and help you stay connected to the life of the church.
Of course, we'd always encourage you to join in whenever you're able, but your place in God's family isn't measured by attendance at a meeting.
Our desire is that everyone at The Vine knows they belong, are loved and have people walking alongside them as they become more like Jesus.
We'd Love You to Join Us
As our Small Groups meet across the week, we'd love to help you find one that's right for you.
We'll usually suggest a group based on where you live and what we know about your availability, but those suggestions aren't fixed. Our priority isn't putting people into the "right" group—it's helping everyone find somewhere they belong.
Whether you're able to attend every week, occasionally, or simply want to stay connected, we'd love to help you become part of a Small Group.
